Q&A With Coach Mariah: Tough Questions on Tragedy & the Road to Recovery

Coach Mariah fields a hard question on Facebook.

FB'er: I have actually suffered Gulf war syndrome issues and I am just now starting to feel better. My health was deteriorating slowly and I am now focused on getting in shape.

M: Well there's one thing about trauma: it's a tremendous amount of energy. Think of it as a HUGE offshore oil well that you've (perhaps unintentionally) tapped and there's no plugging it up - so you can either channel it straight into a system that lines your pockets or let it dump into the Gulf of Mexico and destroy existing life - and life you can't even conceive of or imagine at this point. Your well is open, [FB'er] - there's no going back or plugging it up. So where you gonna dump that energy? >}

FB'er: Great anology Mariah! I belive that everything happens for good reasons and I am inspired.

M: Good!! Now go watch 'Grindhouse' and meditate on the peg leg. It's hard to pray, "Thank you God for my peg leg!" but you just do and then one day you realize you can shoot bad guys with it and it's your Superpower! (I so hope you've seen the movie so this doesn't sound totally nuts :) ).

Revelation Remake #202: A Lesson in Resilience

Revelation Remake #202. 132 lbs to 120 lbs, 24.5% to 12% bodyfat so far

Jillian was 132lbs, 24.5% bodyfat the day she started in our Online Program

4 Weeks later she was 125 lbs, 19% bodyfat.

Then she almost lost her life.

Two weeks after her recovery, when most people would still be mourning the losses she incurred in the incident, she decided to get back on it.

Just a few weeks shy of her 'After' Shoot, Jillian is 120lbs and 12% bodyfat.
