Veterans Day Saturday Free Community Workout: "Abatte"

This Veterans Day Saturday please join the RevEx Community at Stephen F Austin High School, east side by the red pullup bars, for a very special Community Workout Challenge: "Abatte," a Hero WOD (Workout of the Day) in honor of Sgt Matthew Abatte.

SGT MATTHEW ABATTE
Sgt Matthew Abatte served 3 tours of duty in Iraq, Japan, and ultimately Afghanistan. Part of 3rd Battalion 5 Marines Regiment Darkhorse.

He was 26 when he was killed in the line of duty.

Abatte was a scout sniper. This means: getting dirty, doing whatever it takes to get the mission done, and teamwork. His Hero WOD will reflect this.

Sgt Abatte always put the humor side to things but knew when business called for action. He was ALWAYS the first to do anything. Everybody loved him; his death was a low point for his entire battalion.

Most memorable characteristics, according to comrade and RevEx Coach Eric Ziegler: "His complete loyalty to other marines as brothers. Even if he just met you."

Sgt Abatte is survived by wife Stacie, son Carson Abatte, parents Karen and James.
